Summer is here and, unless you’re a staunch lover of blacks and greys, you will want to add some colour to your wardrobe.

Blame it on the hot weather or the sunny sky but every time we decide what to wear in the Summer we always go for something light to keep us fresh and colourful to keep us happy.

It is in fact proven that warm colours, like red, orange and yellow, provoke a sense of warmth and happiness in most individuals; so which colour should you add to your wardrobe?

This topic was the reason of a long discussion at Femie Magazine but eventually the choice fell on red!

Perfect during the day or even in the evening, red clothes and accessories are the gift that keeps on giving and here are some of the reasons why!

Red is the perfect colour for a day out at the beach, whether you decide to wear a red bikini that will definitely get you all the attention or a red wide-brim hat to avoid distractions while reading your book.

And, besides it being the best choice for a sunny day by the sea, it is also a versatile colour that will allow you to smoothly go from a day to a night look. Just pack your favourite shoes and your red t-shirt and jeans outfit will become a hell of a lot more interesting in the evening!

Red is a cheerful colour but it's also a colour that will make you feel more confident. It is in fact proven that, when wearing red, people tend to feel better about themselves. In a study published in 2017, it was surprisingly discovered that this colour seems to increase one's perspective of their own attractiveness.

So, it goes without saying that, if red is the perfect colour for a confidence boost, why not wearing it when you feel the most timid? If you’re looking for a seducing yet modest first date look then red is the colour for you. You don’t need mini skirts or revealing necklines, all you need is a red dress that puts the right accent on all your curves without exposing too much. Red is unarguably the colour of passion and seduction and if your clothes can help you score some extra points on your first date, even better!

These are some of the reasons why we believe red is the best colour for the Summer. Anyone in favour or against red speak now or forever hold your peace. We're off to go shopping for red clothes... brb!
